8 Days Egypt Travel Itinerary: Culture, History & Local Experiences
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo – Welcome to the Heart of Egypt
Arrive at Cairo International Airport, where you will be met by our professional representative and transferred to your hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. If your arrival is early, You can enjoy a gentle introduction to Cairo with an evening walk or a casual local dinner near the hotel.

Day 2: Giza Pyramids & Egyptian Museum – Icons of Ancient Egypt
After breakfast, begin your exploration with a visit to the legendary Giza Pyramids, home to the Great Pyramid of King Khufu, along with the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. Stop at the panoramic viewpoint for unforgettable photos, then continue to the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple.
Lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant, tasting traditional dishes like koshari or grilled meats.
Later, visit a papyrus workshop to learn about ancient papermaking before heading to the Egyptian Museum, where you will discover the priceless treasures of King Tutankhamun. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3:Alexandria day tour
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo then start driving to Alexandria that takes around 3 hours to be there.
Pompey’s Pillar visit
Upon arrival, we will visit Pompey’s Pillar 360
. It was constructed in honor of Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century, and it is the only thing which remains from the great Serapeum temple.
Catacomb visit
*Then drive to visit the Catacombs which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock with stunning design and interesting mix between the pharaonic and the Greco-Roman art.
* Lunch will be served later at a nice local sea view restaurant in Alexandria,
Citadel of Qaitbay visit
*Then proceed to see the Qaitbay Citadel which was built on the site of the ancient pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria on the 14th century during Mamluks era as a defensive building for the north border of Egypt with amazing view over the sea 360 .Later you will get more free time to discover the local areas in Alexandria like the local market and the fish market there then Walking along the Corniche to feel the relaxed Alexandrian lifestyle

Day 4: Sleeping train to Aswan – Philae Temple, High Dam & Unfinished Obelisk
After finshing your day tour in Alexandria your guide will take you to the train station to take your sleeping train to Aswan which is unique experience,
Upon arrival to Aswan your Egyptologist guide will accompany you on a cultural tour of this peaceful Nile city. Visit the beautifully preserved Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis and located on an island setting. Continue to the Aswan High Dam, a landmark of modern Egyptian engineering, followed by the Unfinished Obelisk, offering insight into ancient construction techniques. Board your Nile cruise for lunch and dinner.
Later, enjoy a felucca ride on the Nile, watching local life along the riverbanks.
In the evening, optional visit to a Nubian village to experience colorful houses, warm hospitality, and Nubian food.
Overnight on board in Aswan.
Day 5: Abu Simbel & Kom Ombo – Timeless Masterpieces
Early morning optional excursion to the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples, carved into rock by Ramses II and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to the cruise and sail toward Kom Ombo. In the afternoon, visit the unique Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Horus. Continue sailing to Edfu. Overnight on board.
Day 6: Edfu Temple & Sailing to Luxor
After breakfast, explore the Temple of Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, dedicated to Horus, the falcon god. Learn about ancient myths and Ptolemaic architecture before returning to the cruise. Enjoy lunch while sailing along the Nile toward Luxor. Overnight on board in Luxor.

Day 7: Luxor Highlights – Valley of the Kings & Karnak Temple
After breakfast, visit the impressive Karnak Temple Complex, the largest religious site ever built. Cross to the West Bank to explore the Valley of the Kings, burial ground of Egypt’s pharaohs, followed by the Colossi of Memnon and the magnificent Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant then end the day with a walk through local areas there and visiting the local market, meeting locals and seeing daily life away from tourist crowds.before flying back to Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 8: Old Cairo & Khan El Khalili – History and Local Life
Begin your day with a visit to the Citadel of Saladin and the stunning Mosque of Muhammad Ali. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Nile before exploring Old Cairo’s Christian and Jewish heritage, including the Hanging Church, Church of Abu Serga, and Ben Ezra Synagogue.
Then lunch as you can try Egyptian street food such as falafel (taameya), shawarma, sugarcane juice, or local sweet.

End your journey at the lively Khan El Khalili Bazaar and historic El Moez Street which is one of the oldest streets in Islamic Cairo.
Optional evening at a café with shisha and mint tea like locals do.
before transferring to the airport for departure.
